Application developer/Software Engineer
Location: Chicago
Job Responsibilities
- Develop requirements and functional specifications
- Designing and code new applications and enhancements to existing applications
- Conduct unit and integrated testing for developed software, including bug reporting and fixing
- Provide post-production application support and quality control throughout life-cycle
- Develop system documentation
- Keep pace with new Internet technologies, tools, and processes
Position Qualifications
- BS or equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field
- Minimum 5 years solid application development experience using C/C++ and Java
- Strong familiarity with Oracle, SQL, Solaris/UNIX programming, and UNIX-based networking utilities (FTP, Telnet, Traceroute)
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a strong team spirit; strong project coordination and organizational skills; must be very detail-oriented
- Knowledge of financial services industryand particularly futures, options, and online brokerage
Network Engineer
Location: Chicago
Job Responsibilities
- Provide engineering, operational, and troubleshooting support for network infrastructure consisting of Internet commerce and business LAN connectivity
- Compile statistics and reports on the network performance and utilization of all network circuits and related equipment
- Maintain network troubleshooting equipment and tools.
- Play an active role in future network architecture planning, due diligence, and equipment purchasing
Job Qualifications
- BS or equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field
- Minimum 3-5 years solid experience in networking
- Knowledge of WAN networking, ISP's, Cisco routers, Sun Microsystems servers, Solaris OS, BGP, Oracle database administration, and network management technologies
- Ability to analyze information from network management tools and draw conclusions about network performance and trends
- Implementation and problem resolution of high speed TCP/IP (especially BGP) Internet connections
- Working knowledge of DNS, http, https, UNIX and NT
- Team player with good written and verbal communications skills, good interpersonal skills, and a strong can-do attitude.
Customer Service Representative
Location: Chicago
Job Responsibilities
- Assist current customers with questions relating to their XPRESSTRADE accounts, the markets, and futures and options in general, both over the telephone and via e-mail
- Research and solve customer problems while maintaining high customer satisfaction
- May be involved in processing inbound customer orders
- Contact customers for defined specialty purposes, such as account documentation deficiencies or margin calls
- Troubleshoot basic technical problems encountered by clients
- Respond to telephone and e-mail inquiries by prospective customers and promote XPRESSTRADE'S ideals, features, and services
Position Qualifications
- Education or training equivalent to BA/BS, preferably in business or finance
- Minimum 6 months customer service or call center experience a plus
- Excellent customer service attitude, solid work ethic, cheerful disposition, team player, and strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Outstanding oral and written communication skills
- Basic understanding of futures and options and the brokerage industry; Series 3 license a plus; willingness to learn and attain Series 3 license within 12 months of date of hire
- Ability to work flexible shift assignments
- Computer literacy, including familiarity with the Internet, e-mail, and Microsoft Windows, Word, and Excel
