Comments: Super big thanks to Barkley and Phil for coming out to California and helping on the Mutant Vehicle. The artistic input from those two was super motivating, and the "two hands reaching for a star" (the "sign")that will be on top of the car was assembled, welded, painted, etc. and looks awsome. The sign is 9 feet in length, and will be mounted on top of the car with a total height around 10 feet. It will be very consipicuous to say the least. Unfortunately we did not get to show off the trick electric steering as we had it out of the for final engineering and wiring.
Phil and I took some pictures that will be posted later. -Chris

Comments: Hello everyone,
I was not sure how to put pics on this site so I put together a web page with everything on it. As we get more things done I will add images to the site and let you know.
I know that some folks were hoping that the dome would be at the beach or all put together in our back yard so that people can stop by and look at it. However this is not going to happen. I don?t have all the Christmas lights to string up in the dome and I don?t want to put the fabric up again until I have reinforced the places where it attaches to the dome. As anyone who puts lights on a x-mas tree knows it takes time and we are going to be putting hundreds of lights in the dome. I don?t have the time to reinforce the fabric, make the triangles, do the el wire, have a personal life/ job and then string lights and rehang the fabric by next weekend. We will all have to see it come together on the playa. Which I know it will do wonderfully. So again I am sorry for those that will be disappointed, but again I really want to spend my energy on finishing projects for burning man.
Smiles,
Halcyon

Per Davids message regarding Tanabata decorations:
Attached are some photos with good detail but black and White. I believe we can fabricate something like these by covering a 16" beachball in gold sparkly furry material with long strong colored metallic tyvek streamers. Like Halcyon's concept of using the bamboo with gold lame leaves, the tanabata decoration with a burningman twist to it.

Comments: More progress on the mutant vehicle. Chris and Frank have the drive by wire (ala cordless drill) in development.
I've purchased one 13 ft by 39" bamboo fence (see the photo below). Hoping we can split it into 2 x 13 ft by 19" pieces for the vehicle skirt.
Its being shipped to Huntington beach.
David and Greg, if you havent already, use the Yahoo Club message board and also email directly members out of town (like Jon Morris, Kevin, whomever) solicitations to take timeslots for daytime studio hours. Also the beach burn will provide us an oppportunity to assign some roster duties (as always)

I saved about two dozen of these for the tanabata setup.
In response to your message Cindy, I did not realize that there was a budget for someone to pick up and RV rather I thought that was the redmoon RV. And as far as storage- a large number of the items cannot be burned and burningman is trying to cut down on the amount of junk they have to begin with. The storage is not necessarily a bad thing. Yes- originally this storage was meant to make hauling stuff out - that much easier- and still can be.
my personal observtion is that this original figure was just a starting point is not by any means set in stone.

Mutant Vehicle Progress
Here are some images of our mutant vehicle progress. Chris and Frank have extended the chassis and are continuing work on the floor and "trunk" of the vehicle. Phil will be travelling to LA in late June to work on decoration. The sketch is our working concept of "Neglected work of the lovers" including a wandering herd (possibly with cow shaped lawn/christmas lights) and unfinished grass/jute/bamboo weaving.
