Usability is the process of designing an interface or
application around the needs of a system's end-user. This
process can help to determine potential future re-engineering
needs before the web-application reaches the development
or production phase, limiting costly software re-engineering.
End-users are profiled and pooled as subjects for usability
sessions. Here, screen sequences in various prototyped form
are presented and feedback solicited in a controlled manner.
Survey data / heuristics would include noted observations
of disorientation, incorrectly labeled or ordered information,
features absent or superfluous to end-user.
Usability feedback is cataloged and prioritized from critical
to minor to not-applicable. Feedback is entered into worklog
as tasks based on priority.
